Broaden the Mental Horizon by T.Alisha Rogers

All things are learned from Exposure. Experiences from the perceived insignificant to the life altering, life changing events that sear into the memory. In order for the mind to grow it must be stimulated, introduced to new and or different ideas, perspectives. Allowing one to step out of their comfort zone, the social norms perpetuated by a society that see through an established, fixed, rigid wimdow, is the beginning of cognitive growth. There is meaning, validity to "Each one, teach one, each one, reach one..." The question is has this been done? How do we become open to the not so obvious, the covert? Exposure... to the end of the horizon.

Something to Consider... T. Alisha Rogers

As we go about our own daily lives, do we walk seeing only what we desire to see? Do we hear only what we want to hear? Inhale deeply, take a moment, look around, see more than the obvious, observe what is obscured by superficial distractions, listen beyond the spoken words...

A Calling?

I spent some time speaking with a childhood friend. Recalling moments that changed my life, and theirs. Realization of the many things greater than myself is not a new concept or an epiphany of any kind. There is so much I would like to do, so much that needs to be done. Can one person go it alone, in a mortalistic  perspective? That answer lies within each of us, that answer lies if one has the ability to overcome fears, the courage to forge forward laying waste to pride, perceived inadequacy. Perhaps the key lies with being compelled to follow through with one's dreams, desires and the efficacy of self.

A Moment of Reflection... T. Alisha Rogers

On a daily basis, observations are made

Comparisons, inspections, realizations...

Consider the intellectual value of selfless acts

Consider the impact of a single action for the benefit of another

Then think to yourself ... what if it was me.

So,

A smile

A hug

An ear

A shoulder

For someone in need,

It may be life.

Simplicity by T. Alisha Rogers

Sometimes things are over analyzed

Sometimes things are seen so superficially

At this moment, gaze upon me

The complexion of my skin,

The shape and color of my eyes,

The outline of my lips

The ease of my smile.

Sometimes there is more,

Sometimes there is deeper

The content of my thoughts

The emotion not seen

The passion underneath

The depth of my character

Sometimes it is only what it is

Companionate

Compassionate

Just love.
